2011 Super Bowl:Report says Pittsburgh Steelers Player Pouncey Has Broken Ankle

PITTSBURGH — Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey did not practice again Thursday because of the left ankle injury he suffered during Sunday's AFC championship game victory over the Jets.
Pouncey said after the game he intended on playing in the Super Bowl. He was seen in a cast and on crutches Wednesday.
Teammate Chris Kemoeatu had told reporters Wednesday that Pouncey was not going to play in the Super Bowl, but he backed off those comments Thursday.
Later Thursday, the Pittsburgh  Steelers jersey Post-Gazette reported, citing unidentified sources, Pouncey had a broken bone in his left ankle to go with a sprain. The team has not ruled Pouncey out of the Feb. 6 game against the Packers.
Also not practicing for the Steelers was starting cornerback Bryant McFadden, who has a strained abdomen. McFadden also did not practice early last week, but he returned to practice Friday and played Sunday — albeit with a somewhat reduced workload.
A lose-lose proposition
NEW YORK — The NFL and its players stand to lose hundreds of millions of dollars if they fail to reach a labor agreement before the current deal expires March 3, said the league's chief negotiator Jeff Pash.
The league said it would lose $120 million if the deadline in March passed without a deal and $1 billion if no agreement was in place by the start of the regular season in September, as well as $400 million per week during the regular season.
